Now, not only had her world been shattered, so had her heart. That’s how she found herself running—straight into a tall, dark and handsome distraction.

In small-town Texas, local construction worker, Jackson stopped believing in happy endings a long time ago. That is until a beautiful stranger literally crashes into his life and manages to land a few punches for good measure. She’s trouble. Chaos. Heartbreak waiting to happen. But no matter how hard he tries, he can’t stay away.

Praise for this book

I was admittedly a little skeptical when I read the info and the FMC being a wartime correspondent. I was a medic in the Army and did a tour in Iraq. Personally, there are some areas/topics that are touchy and off putting when authors guess what it was like or haven't done their due diligence. Thankfully, I did not get that feeling from this book. The tension and bickering between the MMC & FMC are believable, as is the FMC's emotional reactions to past events that compel her to make uncharacteristic changes in her present life (sorry, no spoilers from me). It's a good read.

It blended emotional depth with a satisfying, feel-good love story. The characters’ journeys and the enemies-to-lovers arc make it easy to stay invested from start to finish.

Great story that made me feel all warm and cozy inside.

What a great book! Wasn't sure how much I would actually enjoy it... But I loved it! Highly recommended!
